Even when a spill has been contained within a bund this still requires proper cleanup as if left it could cause pollution at a later date. Picture on left is a lorry bund which contained an oil leak from a lorry, this was left for a week before being clean up

The problem was that it rained and subsequently filled the bund further, no oil overfilled the bund however the cost of disposing oily/water is not cheap and there is alway a minimum charge when using a road tanker. If it was just oil in the but this could have been recovered using our vacuum system and gone for reprocessing for next to nothing.
